Announcement from Pastor Ross
Dear Christ Church,
For those of you who weren't able to attend the congregational meeting this morning, I wanted to send this announcement to you so you could hear the news from me as well.
It is with true bittersweetness of heart that I announce my transition into a new chapter of ministry life. I have received and accepted a call to serve as a pastor at my home church, Eastwood Presbyterian Church, in Montgomery, Alabama. This is the church where I was born, baptized, raised, and sent off to seminary, and my family still attends there.
This decision has been difficult because we are deeply saddened to leave Christ Church and our beloved congregation, friends, and spiritual family. Before being asked to come serve in Alabama, we had no plans or desires to leave and go anywhere else. We have been immensely blessed to serve at Christ Church, and I have been overjoyed with the privilege to serve alongside Pastor Jon who has been a wonderful, faithful, and loyal mentor and friend.
However, despite the difficulty of the decision, we are confident this unique opportunity is what the Lord has for us at this point in our lives. I will be taking the position of Pastor to Families, with responsibilities of regular preaching and teaching, and with a shepherding and discipleship focus on young families. Additionally, this will afford us the opportunity to raise our children in a place where their grandparents, uncle, aunt, and cousins can be in their lives in a significant way.
Please know that it has been one of the greatest privileges of our lives to serve at Christ Church Presbyterian, and there will always be a large piece of our heart at Christ Church and in Charleston. As we transition, we are praying for the Lord’s richest blessing upon CCP, and we are confident that whatever plans he has will be for the great blessing of this congregation and for his Kingdom.
With love and affection in Christ,
~ Pastor Ross and Family
