Hello Christ Church!
I hope your summer is off to a great start! I've been thinking about something that Pastor Jon said on Sunday. In expounding on the point the we should "Let not sin reign" (Romans 6:12a) he mentioned that, "When we are in Christ, sin no longer reigns in us, but it does remain in us." For whatever the reason, this just put sanctification in a whole new light for me. We cannot ever be totally rid of our sin (not in this fallen world!). But we cannot let it rule and reign over us. Jesus, the King of Kings, is our ruler - reigning over our hearts and minds. Yet sin remains. The war is over, but the battles continue. Onward, dear Christian soldiers!
I strongly encourage you to listen to the entirety of Pastor Jon's sermon from this past Lord's Day morning, as he encourages us to be who we are in Christ.
While you pull up that sermon to listen to this week, don't forget that THIS SUNDAY (June 5) we are having a Fellowship Meal. We still need families to sign up to bring a dish to share. We're asking 15 families to bring a main dish, large enough to serve at least 10 people. We're also asking all other families to bring a side dish or dessert, large enough for your family plus extra. Singles, please bring chips or drinks. I'm looking forward to this time of fellowship!

Fellowship Meal | THIS Sunday, June 5
Please mark your calendars and make plans enjoy a Fellowship Meal with our church family on THIS SUNDAY following the morning worship service. Join us for this wonderful time to enjoy a meal and fellowship on the Lord’s day as a church family! We're asking 15 families to bring a main dish, large enough to serve at least 10 people. We're also asking all other families to bring a side dish or dessert, large enough for your family plus extra. Singles, please bring chips or drinks.
Sunday School Summer Break
Our Sunday School programs will go on Summer Break from June 5 to July 17. We will not have Sunday School June 5, and will start having Sunday School again starting July 17. Happy Summer!
Christ Church Women’s Fellowship Event | June 22nd at 7:00 PM
The ladies of Christ Church are warmly invited to gather for a monthly time of encouraging fellowship. The Women's Fellowship is hosted in a different home each month, and includes heavy finger foods, dessert, fellowship, a devotion, and a season of prayer. It’s a time to grow deeper in the Lord and foster friendships, old and new. The June Women’s Fellowship will be Wednesday, June 22nd at 7:00 PM, at the home of Kendall DuRant.
New Members Class | Starting Sunday, July 17
Our New Members Class is for all those who would like to find out more information about the church and/or join us in membership. This is a great opportunity for visitors to learn more about the distinctives of Christ Church Presbyterian and to understand what it means to be a member of the church. Vacation Bible School | July 19-21
Mark your calendars! Christ Church Presbyterian will be having Vacation Bible School for kids ages 4-12 at the church July 19-21. Registration is now open!

MUSC & Twenty-Somethings Summer Study | Tuesday, June 7 at 6:45pm
The weekly MUSC & twenty-somethings Summer study meets on Tuesdays at 6:45 PM at the home of Michael & Sarah Bauer. Join us each week as we have a cookout dinner, wonderful Christian fellowship, and study a new book this Summer: Strange New World: How Thinkers and Activists Redefined Identity and Sparked the Sexual Revolution by Carl Trueman. Men of the Covenant Bible Study | Thursday, June 9 at 7:00am
Our Men of the Covenant Bible study will meet Thursday morning at 7:00 AM at the church. We are studying The Masculine Mandate: God's Calling to Men by Dr. Richard Phillips. Please join us for this time of growing in grace with one another! Books are available for those who attend the study.
