Hello Christ Church!

If you walked thought the doors of Christ Church this past week, you would have been transported to an entirely different realm. Vacation Bible School is upon us! "Christ Church Castle" was bustling with kiddos and helpers all week - learning about Christ our KING. 

VBS has been "in the works" (via lots of scribbled paper and many meetings) since around April of this year. It was truly awesome to see it all come together this week. You, my dear Christ Church, made this happen and it has been an absolute joy to see everyone work together and using their gifts so well. Soli Deo Gloria!

Thank you all for your prayers for VBS this week. Please continue to pray that these little ones will learn more about their true King, and store his word in their hearts. May the Lord's kingdom grow and he be praised! 

Speaking of praising the Lord, this past Sunday, not only did we have a baptism, but three new ruling elders and five new deacons were duly ordained and installed here at Christ Church. We have so much to be thankful for!

It is always good to be a member of a local church, but it is particularly sweet to be involved here at Christ Church right now and to be a part of the many ways the the Lord is working in and through his people. I strongly encourage you to read through the announcements below and find specific ways to join in this precious fellowship.

Vacation Bible School | Thank You!
Many thanks to all those who served in this year’s Christ Church Summer VBS. The Lord blessed it tremendously and the kids are already looking forward to next summer. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

New Members Class | Sundays at 4:15 PM
Our New Members Class is for all those who would like to find out more information about the church and/or join us in membership. This is a great opportunity for visitors to learn more about the distinctives of Christ Church Presbyterian and to understand what it means to be a member of the church. If you are interested in joining this class, please contact Pastor Michael (michael@christchurchcharleston.org). We will meet in the sanctuary of the church at 4:15pm on Sundays.

Christ Church Women’s Fellowship Event | THIS Wednesday, July 27 at 7:00 PM
The ladies of Christ Church are warmly invited to gather for a monthly time of encouraging fellowship. The Women's Fellowship is hosted in a different home each month, and includes heavy finger foods, dessert, fellowship, a devotion, and a season of prayer. It’s a time to grow deeper in the Lord and foster friendships, old and new. The July Women’s Fellowship will be Wednesday, July 27 at 7:00 PM, at the home of Kristin Gee. Dr. Stephen Nichols | Special Guest | July 31st 
We are grateful that Dr. Stephen Nichols, President of Reformation Bible College, Ligonier Teaching Fellow, and prolific author will be our guest preacher for morning and evening worship on Lord’s Day, July 31st. Pastor Jon will be away preaching for Rev. Dr. Andy Young at our sister congregation in Oxford, England. May the Lord bless the preaching of His Gospel! 

Visitor’s Dessert at the Payne’s | August 17th

Fall Church Picnic | Saturday, September 10th
We have reserved space at Palmetto Islands County Park [444 Needlerush Pkwy, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464] for our Spring Church Picnic! The picnic will be on Saturday, September 10th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this wonderful time of fun and fellowship with your church family!

Mission Conference | October 7-9, 2022
Mark your calendars for a high impact weekend focused on the Great Commission at Christ Church Presbyterian on October 7-9. Rev. Chris Gordon, Senior Pastor of Escondido URC in Escondido, California will be our guest preacher. In addition to pastoral ministry, Pastor Gordon is the host of Abounding Grace Radio, a Christian radio ministry that reaches hundreds of thousands of people across the U.S., Canada, and Africa. In addition, Pastor Gordon is the author of The New Reformation Catechism on Human Sexuality. Please make plans to attend this mission focused weekend. Kitchen Ladies Needed
We are in search of more ladies to help out in the Christ Church Kitchen. The Christ Church Kitchen Ladies work in a team of two each Sunday to help prepare coffee and snacks and to set our the Lord’s Supper. They also help to put all of those things away after the service. For special events (such as Fellowship Meals) all ladies help to put this on. Anyone interested will be fully trained.  Please email Rachael McIntosh.

Kids’ Catechism | Sunday, July 24 at 4:30 PM
Children ages 8–12 are welcome to join the Kids’ Catechism Class at Christ Church; we are studying the Westminster Shorter Catechism and meet at Sundays 4:30 PM at the church.

MUSC & Twenty-Somethings Summer Study | Tuesday, July 26 at 6:45pm
The weekly MUSC & twenty-somethings Summer study meets on Tuesdays at 6:45 PM at the home of Michael & Sarah Bauer. Join us each week as we have a cookout dinner, wonderful Christian fellowship, and study a new book this Summer: Strange New World: How Thinkers and Activists Redefined Identity and Sparked the Sexual Revolution by Carl Trueman. Men of the Covenant Bible Study | Thursday, July 28 at 7:00am
Our Men of the Covenant Bible study will meet Thursday morning at 7:00 AM at the church. We are studying The Masculine Mandate: God's Calling to Men by Dr. Richard Phillips. Please join us for this time of growing in grace with one another! Books are available for those who attend the study.
