Update on Cindy Wilkins

Dearest Christ Church Family,

“This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” (Ps. 118:23).

On Monday, just before going for a walk, Cindy Wilkins collapsed in front of Steve. She has a significant heart condition called tachycardia. Steve performed CPR until the paramedics arrived. When she was admitted to ICU, the doctors places her into an induced coma. They were not hopeful that Cindy would survive, and that if she did survive there would likely be significant brain damage. When Mike Royal and I met and prayed with Steve at his home on Monday evening, there were a lot of tears, prayers, and expressions of trust in God’s goodness and faithfulness. Things did not look good. But God’s people began to pray, and our loving heavenly Father answered our prayers.

The following day Cindy woke up on her own and was responsive. The doctors, indeed everyone, was amazed. The doctors said that if she survives she will likely be in ICU for weeks, maybe months. She was moved to a regular room yesterday! God has done it, and it is marvelous in our eyes. Please continue to pray for Cindy as she recovers from cracked ribs, and a procedure where she received an internal defibrillator. And pray for Steve as he cares for her.

Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow!

See you on the Lord’s Day.

Your Pastor, Servant, and Friend,

Pastor Jon
